The Verband psychologischer Berater has been in existence since 2012. With commitment, expertise and strong partners, we represent the professional interests of our members in society in order to recognize the great responsibility of this work and to provide those seeking advice with protection and guidance on the "psychological market".
It is particularly important to us to raise awareness among the population, as it is well known that long-term psychological problems such as unresolved conflicts, constant stress, prolonged relationship crises or inadequate problem-solving strategies lead seamlessly to severe self-doubt, feelings of failure and permanent depression and ultimately result in genuine mental illness and/or promote or cause physical complaints or delay their recovery.
But it doesn't have to come to that, because psychological counseling addresses precisely the above-mentioned problems by developing new problem-solving strategies and providing professional support for their implementation.
It is therefore obvious that psychological counseling sessions can have a preventative effect as soon as work overload, family problems, loneliness and professional problems arise. By developing solution strategies as soon as life problems are recognized and thus successfully coping with the stressful situation, the path to a spiral of problems is avoided - self-doubt and feelings of failure are eliminated and the person emerges from the crisis stronger. In the broadest sense, psychological counseling is therefore also a health care strategy or a form of mental illness prevention.
We are also a point of contact and source of information for the media and the public on all issues relating to the field of psychological counseling and are committed to promoting appreciation and recognition of this profession.
The work of psychological counselors ultimately requires uniform standards in order to guarantee the quality and transparency of the service. We are also committed to this as Verband psychologischer Berater .
The establishment of the new job profile is absolutely essential, not least to differentiate it from existing job profiles!
Many years of practical experience show that psychological counselors do valuable work. On the other hand, numerous studies show that there is a constantly growing need for prevention work and qualified help with personal problems or difficult life situations on the part of society.
In our opinion, this form of psychological or psychosocial counseling is particularly important for health because it significantly improves mental well-being by (re)establishing life satisfaction. It therefore makes a decisive contribution to maintaining health.
Statutes of the association VpsyB e.V.
In accordance with the Articles of Association, the Executive Committee is the Executive Board within the meaning of Section 26 BGB. It manages all of the association's activities and ensures that the resolutions of the General Meeting are implemented.

These include training measures lasting several days and one-day seminars on selected topics.
