Examination regulations for the quality seal examination of VpsyB e.V.
1 Purpose of the audit
1.1 The purpose of the examination is to determine whether candidates with life and professional experience possess the highest competencies listed in the job description for psychological counselors.
1.2 VpsyB Verband psychologischer Berater e.V., represented by its President Sandra Neumayr, is the certifying organization.
2 Organization
2.1 All tasks in connection with the awarding of the quality label are assigned to an audit committee.
The audit committee consists of at least 8 members and is elected by the founding members of VpsyB for a term of office of 4 years.
Re-election is possible. The members of the audit committee are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
2.2 The Examination Board constitutes itself. It is quorate if the majority of members are present. Resolutions require a simple majority.
2.3 Tasks of the examination board:
- Issuance of the examination regulations and regular updating
- Determination of the examination fees
- Determining the time and place of the audit
- Determination of the audit program
- Providing the examination tasks and conducting the examinations
- Decision on admission to the examination
- Decision on the award of the quality seal
- Ensuring quality development and quality assurance, in particular by regularly updating the qualification profile in line with the needs of the labor market
3 Supervision/publicity
The examination is supervised by VpsyB e.V. and is not open to the public. All 8 members of the examination board are present during the practical and oral parts of the examination, while two members of the examination board supervise the examination during the written part. The examination board reserves the right to reduce the number of examiners to 5 for important reasons.
4 Invitation to tender
The examination is advertised at least two months before the start of the examination. The announcement provides information on the examination dates, examination fee, registration deadline and examination procedure.
5 Registration
The application must be accompanied by:
- Copy of an official ID with photo
- Compilation of previous professional training and practice
- Information on the advisory approach
- Brief personal introduction and letter of motivation
6 Approval
Admission to the examination is granted to those who:
- has completed training as a psychological counselor
- can provide evidence of at least 10 hours of individual supervision and 8 specialist training courses relevant to counseling in the 12 months prior to taking the exam
- is a member of the association VpsyB e.V. and
has confirmed its declaration of independence, approval of and compliance with the Code of Professional Conduct, Code of Ethics, Quality Code and Code of Conduct.
7 Costs
The examination candidate pays the examination fee after confirmation of admission to the "Quality-certified psychological counselor" examination VpsyB.
The fee for members of the association is € 650 (€ 890 for non-members) and includes the costs of issuing the diploma and material fees. There is no entitlement to a refund if the examination is not passed. Candidates who withdraw from the examination within the deadline or have to withdraw from the examination for excusable reasons will be refunded the examination fee paid less the costs.
8 Performance of the audit
An examination is held if at least 6 candidates meet the admission requirements after the announcement.
The examination takes place in a face-to-face event lasting up to two days
9 Resignation
Registration for the examination can be withdrawn up to 6 weeks before the start of the examination. Later withdrawal is only possible if there is an important reason, such as illness, accident, maternity or death in the immediate vicinity. The examination board must be informed of the withdrawal immediately.
10 Non-admission/exclusion
Candidates who knowingly provide false information regarding the admission requirements or attempt to deceive the examination board will not be admitted to the examination. Anyone who uses unauthorized aids, violates the examination regulations or attempts to deceive members of the examination board will be excluded from the examination.
11 Completion and assessment
11.1 The examination board decides on the passing of the examination in a meeting after the examination has been completed.
11.2 The assessment of the examination board is made with the grades "pass" or "fail".
11.3 The individual parts of the examination are assessed according to a points system.
11.4 Minutes of the meeting are available to the examination candidates on request.
12 Examination procedure
- Written exam: 180 minutes of basic psychological knowledge
- Oral examination: 60 minutes Methodological competence, professional law, professional ethics, quality competence
- Counseling practice: 30-minute counseling interview in the presence of the examination board
- Colloquium: 40 minutes oral examination, case discussion, self-reflection
